W.A. Frost, located at Selby and Western, combines old world charm with new world amenities.  Besides great food and service, they boast one of the best patios in the Twin Cities.  We caught up with Executive Chef Wyatt Evans and asked him a few questions about himself and W.A. Frost

How long have you been here?

I’ve worked at WA Frost for 8 years and am going on 3 as the Executive Chef.  

Fun fact:  (i.e Chef races sports cars, writes music, plays guitar, and sings. He also appeared Off Broadway in a production called Chef’s Theater.)

I like to play the guitar for my daughters

Last thing you cooked for yourself?

Potato gnocchi basil pesto with leftover roasted chicken

Favorite food from your childhood?

Mac & Cheese or Mom’s pork roast

How would you describe working in your kitchen?

Fast paced – challenging – informative - fun
Something in your fridge or freezer that would surprise people?
I have a bunch of pork liver in my freezer

A meal or a dish that, as a young chef, was an inspiration or a revelation?

Grilled salmon, crème fresh cucumbers, dill and salmon row – this is a dish that really made me want to work at WA Frost.

Last restaurant you ate at?

Heidi’s in Minneapolis

What are your guilty pleasures?

Chocolate of any kind

What would your last meal on earth be and where would you have it?

Biscuits & Gravy in close proximity to my wife.

Cooking shows on TV – real or fake.

Top Chef is legit.  Hell’s Kitchen is what it is, if you have to yell at your staff that much, you haven’t trained them well enough.
