As part of an ongoing commitment to enhance access to artistic programming, the Arts Partnership will present an Ordway Inside Out event on Saturday, Oct. 1. During the event, people can experience a free Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra (SPCO) concert streamed live from the Ordway Concert Hall onto a giant 23’ x 13’ screen in Rice Park, right across the street from the Ordway. Ordway Inside Out is an initiative of the Arts Partnership – which includes Minnesota Opera, the Ordway, the SPCO and Schubert Club – in coordination with the Saint Paul Downtown Alliance.
The Oct. 1 concert in Rice Park will begin at 8 p.m. Presented by the SPCO, renowned pianist and composer Conrad Tao will lead a program built around Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 24. Starting at 7 p.m. attendees can enjoy food trucks and outdoor beer and wine service in Rice Park. The event is free of charge and tickets are not required. Attendees should bring their own blankets or chairs. In the event of inclement weather, the concert in the park will be moved to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2.
