Frozen Faceoff Returns to Xcel Energy Center.
After not holding its championship tournament at its true home the last two seasons due to the pandemic, the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) is returning to Saint Paul for the Frozen Faceoff at Xcel Energy Center March 18-19 2022.

Make plans to attend pre-game festivities at the Frozen Faceoff Fan Fest. Before Saturday's championship game, cheer on the Minnesota Wild against the Chicago Blackhawks.

For those attending the games at Xcel Energy Center, NO BAGS are permitted inside the arena to help reduce staff touchpoints and expedite entry times for guests. This includes clutches, clear bags, purses, backpacks, fanny packs, etc. Medical and diaper bags are permitted at Gate 1 and are subject to x-ray screening. Small wallet in pocket or on lanyard permitted.

There’s nothing like game day at Xcel Energy Center when the NHL Minnesota Wild take the ice and more than 18,000 fans regularly descend upon downtown Saint Paul for the team’s 44 home games. The Wild take on the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday afternoon before the NCHC Championship game.

Thursday, March 17
Open Practices 10:15am to 3pm | NCHC welcomes fans to watch their team make final preparations for the tournament by attending select open practice times.
NCHC Fan Skate is your chance to skate on the official ice of the Frozen Faceoff and the Minnesota Wild! Free and open to the public.
St. Patrick's Day Celebrations | Few cities in America celebrate St. Patrick's Day like Saint Paul, Minnesota! Take in the parade at Noon on March 17th, followed by a concert at CHS Field and Irish celebrations at bars and restaurants throughout the city.
Saturday, March 19
Minnesota Wild vs Chicago Blackhawks 1:00pm | In addition to the NCHC hockey, the Wild will host the Chicago Blackhawks before Saturday's Championship game, giving fans the opportunity to take in NHL action for the first time on Frozen Faceoff weekend. A separate ticket is required for the Wild game. Herbie's on the Park will host an outdoor watch party on the Fan Fest jumbotron.

Tickets for the 2022 Frozen Faceoff are on sale now!
The NCHC Frozen Faceoff is the culmination of the NCHC Tournament, with the two semifinals taking place on Friday followed by the third-place game and championship on Saturday. This season's Frozen Faceoff will take place on March 18-19, 2022 at Xcel Energy Center.
All-session ticket packages to the 2022 NCHC Frozen Faceoff include two tickets:
- one ticket to see both semifinals on Friday, March 18
- one ticket to see the championship game on Saturday, March 19
