Overview
Fuzzy Math has been a fixture on the Twin Cities scene for over a decade, led by keyboardist-composer Mark Vandermyde and featuring some of the finest players around (Andrew Schwandt on tenor sax, Matt Peterson on bass and Haralds Bondaris on drums). They recently released their 5th CD offering a new iteration their uniquely eclectic blend of original jazz and creative pop covers for which the StarTribune once named them to its Best of Minnesota list for “best jazz act for people bored with jazz”. Racket (successor to City Pages arts beat) called them “fluid as hell…generously melodic…alternately tender and brawny…nuanced…this is jazz that never gets too far out but never dawdles too close to home – a genuine sweet spot.” Their goal is to create music that’s interesting, accessible and fun…something for everyone
