Beoga

Overview
With an adventurous spirit and a passion for charting the road less travelled, Beoga has spent more than two decades shaping a distinctive voice within Irish music. Formed through Comhaltas in Northern Ireland, the band’s sound reflects years of shared experience – thoughtful, responsive, and deeply connected as an ensemble.
Beoga reached a global audience through collaborations with Ed Sheeran on Galway Girl and Nancy Mulligan, part of his ÷ album. Galway Girl alone has been streamed over 1.5 billion times on Spotify, and the collaboration led to performances together in settings ranging from intimate pubs to major festival stages, including Glastonbury.
That experience opened new creative paths for the band. Their Carousel project grew out of a period of collaboration and experimentation, working with artists including Foy Vance, Ryan McMullan, and Lissie. As accordionist Damian McKee reflected, “We were making music like we’d never done before. It was like starting again from scratch.”
At the center of it all is a strong sense of connection to place, to collaborators, and to each other. As the band describes it, there’s a through-line in their work: “a draw to the places that you’re from, your family and the things that we care about… friends and home.”
Beoga last appeared at Celtic Junction Arts Center in 2014. This return offers a chance to hear a group that has continued to grow while remaining grounded in the shared musical language that brought them together.
Chairs will be available near the stage, with additional standing room in the rear. Youth 18 years and under can attend for free by registering for a free youth ticket. Free youth tickets are not seated.
