A 1905 masterpiece returned to its original grandeur. Designed by Cass Gilbert, the Minnesota State Capitol is considered an architectural treasure. From gleaming marble and vibrant art and to new public spaces, the Minnesota State Capitol’s comprehensive, 4-year renovation — the largest preservation effort since it first opened in 1905 — was completed in early 2017 and does not disappoint.
The Capitol is open to visitors for daily tours. The 45-minute guided tours are offered on the hour, Monday - Saturday 10a to 2p and Sunday 1p to 3p.
