Pride Comedy Night! at Gambit

Gambit Brewing is excited to be hosting their first annual Pride Comedy Night! featuring some of the funniest LGBTQ+ comedians in Minnesota.

Headliner Jason Schommer has been hailed as "a true performer in every sense of the word, and one of the most engaging personalities in all avenues of Twin Cities comedy” (Patrick Strait, MN Comedy). He has performed for audiences all over the world and was the long-time opener for Louie Anderson in Las Vegas.

Joining Jason will be host and award-winning standup comedian Sarah McPeck, who is a proud member of the Twin Cities LGBTQ+ community and produces the popular Wensgays comedy showcase at Sispyhus Brewing in Minneapolis.

Feature comedian Danielle Thralow has peformed throughout North America, winning the Funniest in Miami contest as well as finishing runner-up in Acme Comedy Club's Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest. And special guest Johnny Pickles, aside from having the best name and beard in the Twin Cities comedy scene, has graced the stages of Acme Comedy Club, House of Comedy, and been featured in Sisyphus Brewing's Wensgay comedy showcase. Jason Schommer

Jason has a knack for finding the comedic gold in life’s most mundane and routine moments and delights audiences by proving that truth really is funnier than fiction. Patrick Strait from MN Comedy and Racket MN says “Nobody tells a better story than Jason Schommer. A long-time opener for the legendary Louie Anderson, Schommer is a multi-layered talent who combines stand-up, storytelling, acting and improv to create a unique experience every time he’s on stage. Jason is a true performer in every sense of the word, and one of the most engaging personalities in all avenues of Twin Cities comedy.”

Jason has performed in clubs and theaters all over the USA as well as Canada and for the US Military in Japan. He has also won numerous Story Slam competitions, performed at The Fitzgerald Theatre, The Guthrie Theater, and The Pantages Theater, worked for The Rosie O’Donnell Show and the FXtelevision series Baskets. In 2017, Jason released his first live comedy album “Confessions of a Local Celebrity”. Most recently he went viral on TikTok by starring in a video with Dave Ryan from KDWB and hitting over 5.3 million views.

Sarah McPeck

Sarah is an award-winning standup comedian and storyteller based in Minneapolis. She produces fantastic shows across the Midwest and provides many opportunities for new comedians. Sarah is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and is an active community organizer. She is a dynamic, encouraging teacher and was an instructor at The Dudley Riggs Theater, formerly known as The Brave New Workshop and HUGE Improv Theater. Sarah is also the host and producer of the popular Wensgays comedy showcase at Sisyphus Brewing in Minneapolis.

Danielle Thralow

Danielle is the regular host of Dubh-Linn's Pro Comedy Tour in Duluth. She has performed throughout North America, winning Miami's Funniest contest and finishing runner-up at ACME Comedy Club's Funniest Person in the Twin Cities. Danielle is comfortable performing across the political spectrum, from deep-red rural venues to LGBTQ+ events. She has been in front of church groups, high schools, funerals, Optimist clubs, Chambers of Commerce, the United States Coast Guard, the League of Women Voters, and Fortune 500 companies.

Johnny Pickles

Whether it’s his fun name, his legendary beard, or his zany observations, johNny pickLes is truly a one-of-a-kind comic! A semifinalist in Acme Comedy Club’s Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest, Pickles is a regular in the Twin Cities standup comedy scene, having graced the stages of Acme Comedy Club, Laugh Camp Comedy Club, Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy, the Joke Joint, Sisyphus Brewing, and Gambit Brewing. He's also performed for Freshly Squeezed Comedy and has been featured in the Wensgays comedy showcase at Sisyphyus Brewing.
