Overview
Nominated for “Best Traditional Singer of the Year” by the Canadian Folk Music Awards and a three-time “Best Vocalist of the Year” (Live Ireland Awards), Norah Rendell has earned a reputation as one of today’s most captivating voices in Celtic music.
An accomplished singer and flute player, Norah has lit up stages around the world, from Celtic Connections in Glasgow and Celtic Colours in Cape Breton to the Irish Fair of Minnesota. She’s a founding member of the Two Tap Trio, the female lead of the Celtic Junction’s beloved Holiday Hooley Christmas show, and was the original frontwoman of the award-winning band The Outside Track.
Her artistry has been showcased on some of the world’s top airwaves, with live features on MPR’s Heartland Radio, CBC’s Canada Live, BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Scotland, and Radio nan Gaidheal. Her recordings have reached listeners across Canada, the UK, Ireland, and North America.
With nine albums to her credit, Norah’s 2015 solo release Spinning Yarns—a collection of traditional songs rooted in the journeys of Irish and Scottish immigrants to Canada—was praised by critics and fans alike. She also lent her voice to Waterbound by The Fretless, a project that went on to win three Canadian Folk Music Awards.
For this performance, Norah will be joined by her husband and musical collaborator, Brian Miller.
