La Rotonde II: Rêverie PRESENTED BY Opitz Outlet

Overview

La Rotonde is a famous cafe in Paris that was known as an intellectual gathering place for some of the most famous artists and writers of the 1920s, including Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, Henri Matisse, and Josephine Baker. Essentially, our show is acting in the same way La Rotonde did in the ‘20s—as a gathering place for creatives to bounce ideas off one another and inspire each other.

Rêverie is the French word for daydream, but we believe it means so much more than that. It's the condition of being lost in dreamy, pleasant thoughts; an idealistic meditation or fanciful musing; the making of unrealistic plans while awake. It is the dream jobs we construct as little kids, the moodboards we stow away in our desk drawers, and the improbable plans we make while we lay awake at midnight. This runway show is a visual manifestation of the dreamlike worlds we often escape to as artists, and the beauty that they can infuse into the real world around us.
