World-traveling jazz harp virtuoso, Park Stickney, makes his Metronome debut in a solo improvised concert featuring standards and original compositions – and he might even take requests! Unlike any harp playing you’ve ever heard! Park’s appearance is a benefit concert for Twin Cities “Music for Food” organization. All proceeds go directly to SourceMN food shelf.
About Park: While attempting to live simultaneously on a farm in Switzerland, and in Brooklyn, New York, harpist Park Stickney is constantly in motion, giving concerts worldwide, from Adelaide to Zaragoza.
Stickney has recorded and performed with the “Crash Test Dummies”, jammed with young oud students in the West Bank, given concerts in a mine in South-Tyrol, in a New York McDonalds, at the White House (twice), in Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Moscow, Madras, Moldavia.. He’s played Broadway pits in NY, Wagner with the Berlin Philharmonic, toured with the Fantasticks in Japan, and regularly appears on page 97 of Patricia Cornwell’s novel “From Potter’s Field.”
Park teaches at the Royal Academy of Music, London, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon, France, and the Milan Conservatory, and has given masterclasses and workshops at nearly every harp festival that exists.
He is also an enthusiastic and spectacularly absent Swiss volunteer fireman.
