Destination Winter Saint Paul: The Greatest Day Celebration

Destination Winter Saint Paul will conclude with a very special event, The Greatest Day Celebration, honoring the gold medal winning 1980 U.S. Men’s Olympic Ice Hockey team, 40 years to the day of their improbable victory over the Soviet Union in Lake Placid.

Location: CHS Field

Time: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Destination Winter Saint Paul will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 22 with the Greatest Day Celebration, honoring the 40th anniversary of the 1980 U.S. Men’s Olympic Hockey Team’s improbable victory over the Soviet Union in Lake Placid. The event will feature a youth hockey exhibition games and a parade through downtown Saint Paul. All associated with Minnesota hockey will be invited. This special event is free and open to the public! Celebrities will participate in a parade starting at 1 p.m. at the Herb Brooks statue in downtown Saint Paul and end at CHS Field. The event finale will feature a momentous matchup between the two youth hockey teams representing Team USA and Team USSR at CHS Field.
