The Teapot Dome Scandal of the 1920’s was a conspiracy between members of President Harding’s cabinet and oil executives to exploit the Teapot Dome Naval Oil Reserve in Wyoming. Prior to Watergate, this was the most significant scandal in American politics and led to the appointment of a Special Counsel, several Senate hearings, civil and criminal trials, and new legislation, which remains in force today. “Brewing a Scandal: Corruption, Politics, and the Teapot Dome,” will recall the events surrounding this political kerfuffle in a way only Landmark Center’s History Plays can – with lawyers and judges, taking on the roles of the corrupt and criminal! “Brewing a Scandal” will play September 26-28. Tickets can be purchased by clicking the ticket link below or calling Sydney at 651.292.3063, or at the door while supplies last. Landmark Center’s History Drama performance series is a theater program designed to bring to life historical trials, court decisions, and legal ramifications. Noted Twin Cities judges, legal practitioners, and academics often trade robes for costumes to bring the events to life.
