James J. Hill House
Railroad baron James J. Hill built this impressive “jewel on the hill” in 1891, at a cost of $931,275.01. Tours are available.

Alexander Ramsey House
Completed in 1872, this site is like going into the Ramsey home while they are out for the afternoon; the furnishings, linens, dishes, carpets, and clothing all belonged to Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey. This is one of the most complete collections of this type in the country. Tours are available.

Irvine Park
Drive or walk around Irvine Park, and view the restored homes of the period. The square has been reconstructed to its original look of the 1870’s.

In downtown, while neither old nor new, this prominent example of Art Deco has a three story, sixty ton onyx “Vision of Peace” statue in the lobby, carved by Swedish sculptor Carl Milles.
